School of Sanctuary Award

Reception were inspired by David Hockney and they created a collage for four different landmarks which were important to them. Can you recognise any of the landmarks?
4DH drew a map of England and Wales and wrote hello in different languages.  Can you spot the different languages?

At Lilycroft Primary School, staff and pupils strive to include everyone in the community, no matter where they are from or what their circumstances are. We are proud to be a school that ensures every child feels safe, valued and included. We have been involved in fundraising activities, with money given to support refugees in our local community.

We are extremely excited and proud to be applying for the Bradford School of Sanctuary Award this year.  Through the school’s topic of Peace and Conflict, we will be teaching children about the lives of asylum seekers and refugees in Bradford, the UK and around the world.

Examples of some of the work the pupils have been doing for Refugee Week can be seen to the left and right.

To celebrate Refugee Week, the children made some word art pictures to show unity.

Refugee Week takes place in June. Click on the link below which will take you to the website where you can see the events that will take place:
