From Monday, 1 September 2025, the price of school meals be £2.20 per day.
Pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will continue to be entitled to Free School Meals through the Universal Infant
Free School Meals Scheme. Meals in Nursery are also increasing in price from 1 September 2025 and are chargeable at
£1.90 per day.
Pupils in Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 and Nursery may be entitled to Free School Meals if parents/carers are in receipt of the
following benefits:
• Income Support
• Income Based Jobseekers Allowance
• Income Related Employment and Support Allowance
• Child Tax Credit with an annual income of less than £16,190, provided they are not receiving Working Tax Credit
• the ‘Guaranteed’ element of the State Pension Credit
• Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)
• Universal Credit with an annual net earned income threshold of less than £7,400*

We would also like to make you aware of the government’s welcome announcement to extend free school meal
provision to any pupil whose parents receive Universal Credit from September 2026*, increasing eligibility and the
numbers of those who will be able to benefit from the free school meal programme
