Welcome to Year 5!
In Year 5, this term , we have been exploring the award-winning poetry book , “The Lost Words” in literacy. We composed our own spell-poems and learned some of them by heart for an assembly performance.
In topic, we have been learning about The Middle Ages. We enjoyed a fantastic history day with TEMPUS FUGIT who delivered a workshop on knights and castles: enjoy the photographs!
The children have continued to make great progress in their PWA sessions, and are looking forward to the family session next week (Tuesday 9th April)
In Year 5, during Autumn term, we have been writing recounts about natural disasters in Literacy; in Maths our focus has been on fractions and decimals and in Topic the children have enjoyed learning about Extreme Earth.
Year 5 have enjoyed the PWA sessions all term working on important skills such as team-building and resilience; they especially enjoyed the Parent’s Day which was a great success.
