Year 3

Welcome to Year 3!

Spring Term

In Year 3, this term has been a very busy. We have so much to share with you!

The children took part in Red Nose Day by wearing red clothes and red noses.

We also celebrated World Book Day. We shared and talked about our favourite stories. This was a memorable event in school, which all the children enjoyed. We had lots of different characters in our year and in school, such as Malevolent, Alice in Wonderland, superheroes and Harry Potter.

As part of our History Day we learnt about the Stone Age. This was a very interactive morning, full of role play and acquiring knowledge about all things Stone Age!

In Year 3, in the Autumn term, we have learnt about Vikings. We went on a trip to the Yorkshire Museum, to learn more about Vikings. The children thoroughly enjoyed this trip!

In Literacy we have been learning to write a non-chronological report and how to write a poem.

After lunch, we always do the ‘Daily Mile’. This is a 15 minute period of time, where the children are running, jogging or walking around the playground.

We made thank you cards for people in the community, including the police officers.

We also visited the local nursing home to deliver Christmas bags that the children had made and decorated.
