Letter from the Headteacher
I hope you and your family are staying safe at home. I wanted to write to you about home learning. We are all in unfamiliar territory and the main priority for everyone is to stay safe. Because of this, we do not place any unrealistic expectations on you as parents to home school your children. If your child is completing the activities from the home learning packs then this is enough. In addition to this, the children can do some reading every day and practise learning their times tables.
Teachers will post links to websites, videos etc but don’t feel you have to fill your day with them or do them at all. I will also send text ideas for things to do at home.
Once school reopens, your child will catch up on their learning so please don’t worry about this.
In the meantime, look after your children, keep them safe and stay at home.
If you need help or support either email school or contact Margaret McMillan Primary who will make sure you get to speak to someone from Lilycroft.
MMPS – 01274 495934
I look forward to seeing you all again when this emergency is over. Best wishes to all our children and families.
Stay safe and Stay at home.
We have been informed some parents have received an email stating the following:
‘As schools will be closing, if you’re entitled to free school meals, please send your bank details and we’ll make sure you’re supported’.
This is a scam email – it is not from a local authority. Please do not respond to it, and delete immediately.
School will close on Friday 20th March at 3.15pm until further notice.
